Energy Charge rate adjustment from $0.1167 to $0.1195 per kilowatt-hour for all rate classes (the energy charge is the price per kilowatt-hour of electricity you use.)
$6.00 per month increase in facility charge.
Heat Rate Energy Charge rate adjustment from $0.055 to $0.060
West River Electric's Board of Directors has approved this rate adjustment in response to the rising costs of wholesale power rates and to ensure the cooperative can continue to provide safe, reliable electricity to our members. If you remember back to 2021, we actually reduced rates for three months giving back roughly $120.00 to each member during that time.
The decision to raise member rates was not easy. This adjustment is necessary to ensure we can maintain the services our members have come to expect and support on going enhancements in our infrastructure.
We have seen substantial price increases for essential equipment ranging from 50% to 150% for transformers, poles, wires, and more. These factors have forced us to make difficult decisions regarding our rates.
Serving our members' best interest by maintaining reliable service at an affordable price remains the cornerstone of your cooperative's business. We will continue to have a strong internal focus on containing costs and operating efficiently for you, our member owners.
PLEASE NOTE: THE BELOW CALCULATOR DOES NOT INCLUDE TAXES AND ONLY APPLIES TO OUR STANDARD RESIDENTIAL RATE.
